Heritage Services Officer


About the position:

This position is responsible for the provision of a quality Library service and being a point of client contact for the Library Heritage Services Department, responding to enquiries appropriately and effectively. The Heritage Services Officer will actively participate in the teamwork responsible for the delivery of excellence in customer service.

This position is offered as a permanent part time opportunity, working 56 hours per fortnight Monday to Friday and one Saturday per month.

Key accountabilities:

  • Provide excellent customer service to library and heritage clients.
  • Undertake a variety of Heritage Services administrative duties.
  • Assist with Heritage Services collection management duties and tasks.
  • Provide support to Library Team as required including desk shifts, shelving and events.
  • Participate in Heritage Services promotion, outreach and associated services.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally have Certificate IV or industry qualification in Library, Information Management or Cultural Services with relevant experience. Experience in research practices, working in documentary heritage and local knowledge is highly regarded.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $64,749 per annum pro rata or $32.76 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
