ABOUT US Council owns and operates the Cobar Shire & TAFE Library, Great Cobar Heritage Centre, Lilliane Brady Village (aged care facility), Children's Services, Youth & Fitness Centre as well as works depots in Euabalong and Cobar. Kubby House Childcare Centre is a 31-place service and is the only long day care provider in town. Council has recently been awarded funding to build a brand new Early Learning Centre (ELC) to meet the growing needs of our community, which has been architecturally designed specifically to exceed best practice industry standards. Our new centre is expected to be 'open for business' in January 2023, with the capacity to accommodate up to 88 children. ABOUT YOU We are seeking an enthusiastic, kind, and caring Room Leader to deliver outstanding education and care for the children of the Kubby House Childcare Centre. Your previous experience as a leader combined with your sound understanding of the early learning years framework and national quality standards and your ability to recognise and develop the strengths in your team will see you succeed in this role. Our preferred candidate will be Diploma qualified and passionate about early childhood education and play based learning, with a commitment to bringing learning to life through developmentally appropriate programs that inspire the children in our care to reach their full potential. We are looking for someone who brings their best self to work and builds positive relationships with the children and families to create a safe, fun, inviting, and nurturing learning environment. ABOUT THE ROLE Reporting to the Centre Coordinator, this role is responsible for developing and implementing an innovative learning program, documenting the children's learning journey, and ensuring the room operates efficiently, cost effectively and in accordance with the required standards, legislation and regulations. The Room Leader (0-3yrs) needs to be an excellent communicator and help foster a high-performance team culture whilst providing the support, coaching and quality mentoring for educators in an inclusive environment for our children and their families. The current service has two rooms 0-3 years (12 places) and 3-5 years (19 places), our brand new ELC will allow us to grow and meet the current and future demand, specifically in the under two age group. This position has been classified as Band 2 Level 2 ($31.65 - $36.64) under Council's salary system, with employment terms and conditions in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award, working 38 hours a week with one RDO each month.
