This position will assist in Council’s transition to a new cloud-based ERP system which encompasses Xero (accounting and payroll), ApprovalMax (financial delegations and procurement approvals platform) and Councilwise (property and rating). Applications About Victoria Daly Regional Council Victoria Daly Regional Council (‘the Council’) was formed on 1 July 2008 through the amalgamation of eight Northern Territory Community Councils and was then subsequently separated from the West Daly region which formed its own Regional Council. The Council currently covers 154,000 square kilometres and encompasses the northern communities of Pine Creek and Daly River / Nauiyu and the southern communities of Timber Creek, Kalkarindji and Yarralin. The Council has annual revenues of around $22 million of which at least 80 per cent is derived from funding received from the Australian and Northern Territory Governments. The Council currently employs around 170 employees. Background to Project Currently, the Council is a member of CouncilBIZ, which is a local government subsidiary formed at the same time to provide shared services to the Regional Councils, primarily in the areas of IT and financial admin support. Resignation from membership is subject to the approval from the Minister for Local Government. This has meant that the Council has been obliged to utilise the shared IT infrastructure and systems, including an ERP system that was adopted and implemented at the time of formation, being TechOne. The Council has determined that the current IT environment is no longer fit for purpose and has sought approval from the relevant Minister to resign from its membership of CouncilBIZ. The relevant Minister has approved the adoption and implementation of the Council’s proposed new IT solution, which encompasses the transition to a new cloud-based ERP system that would encompass Xero (accounting and payroll), ApprovalMax (financial delegations and procurement approvals platform) and CouncilWISE (property and rating). The relevant Minister will not consider the Council’s request to resign from membership of CouncilBIZ until such time as the proposed new IT solution has been fully implemented and is operating effectively and as intended. Consequently, the Council will need to run its existing ERP system in parallel with the new proposed ERP system for an interim period and therefore requires the services of appropriately qualified personnel to assist with providing these services To Apply To apply for the vacancy, please provide a brief covering letter addressing the position details and CV to our Recruitment team by e-mail: recruitment@vicdaly.nt.gov.au Candidates will also be considered for full time permanent roles in the Financial Services team, as and when they become available, based on an assessment of performance.
