We have a number of full-time opportunities for Gardeners and a Senior Gardener to join our Parks Operations team in an exciting, diverse role, maintaining our local parks and gardens for the whole community to enjoy. Your day-to-day could be anything from planting and caring for trees, shrubs and bedding plants to weed and pest control, to path and track maintenance as well as general gardening and maintenance work. Part of your role will include the operation and maintenance of a range of small to heavy machinery, tools and equipment, and you could be involved in some volunteer rural fire fighting - didn't we say this role was diverse?

You'll get to enjoy working with a tight-knit, passionate group of people who pride themselves on the quality of their work and have a genuine love of horticulture and working outdoors!

So, what do you need to get your foot in the door? The essentials are a current full NZ driver's licence and a formal qualification and experience in horticulture, as well as an Approved Handler and/or Growsafe certificate. If you have traffic management experience and an STMS certificate, that's even better! You'll bring your people skills, awesome can-do attitude and high level of personal motivation, and we'll provide a great environment for you to work in, plus all the support and development opportunities you'll need to go far in this career path!
