LEADING HAND PAVEMENT MAINTENANCE

We are looking for

An emerging leader who wants to lead and mentor a crew to develop themselves and effectively deliver the teams goals. You have experience in a range of road patching vehicles. You are able to prioritise and have an eye for detail to coordinate works and deliver required documentation. You can problem solve with a solutions based focus that will provide the best outcome for our community. You are flexible, adaptable and responsive to change. You have a safety focus and are able to be proactive with safety issues and initiatives. 

We are seeking someone who has the following technical abilities:

  • SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)

  • Current Class HR Driver Licence

  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller

  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans

 

About the Role

Full time: 9 day fortnight

Salary: Range from $50,960 to $58,604 pa + 10% super

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s infrastructure in line with Council’s operational and delivery plans.

This includes:

  • Providing a high level of service in the maintenance of council's sealed road network 

  • Leading a team of staff and initiate and encourage innovative work practices and procedures 

  • Planning and coordinating the delivery of a routine works program that you have collaborated on with your supervisor 

  • Planning in detail your daily works and delegating activities, functions and time frames to team members 

  • Operating various types of semi automated pavement repair vehicles undertaking pavement maintenance including crack sealing, minor asphalt paving works and reseals 

  • Ensuring works comply with developed specifications and standards

NOTE: As the activities of this position could involve exposure to Hepatitis A and B or Q Fever, the employee will be vaccinated against these hazards or required to provide proof of immunity against these diseases.
