PLANT OPERATOR EXCAVATION


Are you an experience Excavator Operator looking for your next challenge?

We are looking for an enthusiastic and skilled operator to join our Evans Head team to carry out a wide range of works within our Roads and Drainage team.

 

We are looking for 

Someone who is experienced in operating and maintaining a variety of excavators and/or backhoes as well as small plant and hand tools. You are committed and have a focus on work health and safety, being able to provide input on safety initiatives. You are a flexible and adaptable team player who is willing to learn and share your knowledge and experience with the team. 

We are seeking someone who has the following technical abilities:

  • SafeWork Construction Induction Certificate (WHS White Card)

  • Current Class MR Driver Licence

  • Nationally accredited certificate or proven competency for LE – Excavator or LB – Front End Loader – Backhoe

  • Nationally accredited certificate for Work Near Overhead Powerlines

  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Traffic Controller

  • SafeWork accredited certificate for Implement Traffic Control Plans

  • SafeWork approved High Risk Licence for DG – Dogging

 

About the Role

Full time: 9 day fortnight

Salary: Range from $52,712 to $60,621 pa + 10% super

The primary purpose of the role is to provide a high level of service in the construction and maintenance of Council’s roads and drainage infrastructure in line with Council’s delivery and operational plans.

This includes:

  • Operating and maintaining the excavator or backhoe within the range of the machine and your experience for general earthworks, roadwork construction and maintenance, water and sewer construction and maintenance, concrete and drainage works, roadside vegetation, sediment and erosion control and any other activities as required

  • Operating plant within the vicinity of overhead and underground services and completing documentation as required

  • Setting out works and ongoing accuracy checks to ensure quality works

  • Participating as a team player and contributing to team objectives and goals

  • Communicating effectively with all stakeholders to solve issues as they arise

NOTE: As the activities of this position could involve exposure to Hepatitis A and B or Q Fever, the employee will be vaccinated against these hazards or required to provide proof of immunity against these diseases.
