We have an amazing poolside team full of fun, vibrant, dynamic individuals - and we want you to be one of them!

We have a part-time opportunity for a Lifeguard to work with our poolside team and play a key part in making sure Splash Palace is a fun and safe environment for everyone. Hours are approx 11 per week, which could include evenings, weekends and public holidays depending on your roster. Flexibility is key as Splash Palace is open Monday to Friday 5.30am - 9pm, Saturday 6am - 8pm, and Sunday 8am - 8pm, and our ideal candidate would be able to pick up extra shifts.

So, what do you need to get your foot in the door? Safety is our priority, so you will need to have (or be able to obtain within two weeks of starting) a National Lifeguard Award (which you must be able to swim 200m in under 6 minutes to obtain) and First Aid Certificate. If you have experience in lifeguarding and customer relations, that's even better! You bring your people skills, awesome attitude and ability to work with a diverse range of people, and we'll provide a great environment for you to work in, plus all the support and development opportunities you'll need to go far in this career path!

The Invercargill City Council is committed to the wellbeing and protection of children, the elderly and vulnerable adults.
