Our council Established in 2016 through the merger of the former Conargo Shire Council and Deniliquin Council, Edward River Council is responsible for delivering a comprehensive range of services to support and improve the lives of our 9,000 residents. The position Each year, Council delivers a capital works program in excess of $10M. Over the past few years, off the back of our recent merger and the stimulus provided by the state and federal governments, Council have been awarded grant funding in excess of the capital works funding from Council. So much so that Council is currently targeting the delivery of a major projects and capital works program of nearly $30M. Some of the signature projects from the program include revitalisation of the civic precinct and town hall, upgrade of the airport to CASA standards, development of a Seniors Living Precinct involving subdivision and construction of up to 15 dwellings, exciting additions to sporting facilities and parks & gardens, delivery of a well-established local road and rural road reconstruction program, together with critical works on our water and sewer infrastructure. The Manager Projects and Capital Works is responsible for the establishment and management of a Project Management Office and Project Management Framework within Edward River Council, ensuring the effective and on time, on budget delivery of Councils capital works projects. About you We are looking for a self-motivated leader with the ability to build collaborative relationships with key internal and external stakeholders and decision makers.
