Located in the Heart of the Channel Country, the Barcoo Shire incorporates the friendly townships of Jundah, Stonehenge and Windorah and covers an expanse of 60,901 square kilometres (an area about the size of Tasmania). The total population of the Shire is approximately 265 and its administration centre is Jundah. 

The Position:

The Town Maintenance Officer provides quality gardening services, undertakes a variety of duties as requested for Barcoo Shire Council and contributing to the efficient operation of Councils Town Services.

Experience and Qualifications:

• Current drivers licence manual vehicle C class
• Construction induction White card
• A minimum of one year experience in Town maintenance, horticulture or garden maintenance, preferably in a government setting 
• Various plant tickets, desirable 
• Chemical handling certification, desirable 
• Chainsaw competency, desirable 

The Benefits:

• Base Salary: Level 4, $63,330.80 annually plus superannuation
