Traffic Management Design Officer


Mackay Regional Council are seeking a motivated and qualified Traffic Management Design Officer to join the Transport & Drainage Infrastructure Planning team.

About the opportunity:

The Traffic Management Design Officer will be required to develop and maintain relevant traffic management plans (TMP) and traffic guidance schemes (TGS) to support Council construction and operational projects, carry out investigations, ensure compliance with standards, resolve complaints or make recommendations regarding issues associated with Council’s civil infrastructure and road reserves traffic management operations where they are subject to works by external statutory bodies and authorised installers, as well as internal Council Departments, and for works undertaken under Minor Works Applications including the issue of letters of approval or letters of no objection together with audit of application and operation of such TMP/TGS through quality provisions and/or contractual arrangements for service providers.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

  • Current QLD ‘C’ Class driver’s license
  • General Construction Safety ‘White/Blue’ card
  • Certificate IV in Civil Construction
  • Experience in any aspect of public participation and/or dispute resolution would be highly regarded
  • Traffic Management Designer qualification
