We are seeking a dynamic and motivated individual to provide the research, data and evidence base to inform and drive key processes and decisions in particular in relation to social and population health in Golden Plains Shire.
This position will suit a team player that possesses proven skills in data analytics, needs assessments and social research design that can contribute to a variety of projects across the organisation including but not limited to social/community plans and policies.

Day to day you will:

  • Apply your social research and data analytics skills to identify social issues, development and trends as required.
  • Provide guidance/recommendations to social planning activities.
  • Provide planning input into cross-Council projects 
  • Contribute to policy and strategic plans for social issues that have been identified as priority areas for Council
  • Provide input of health and social information during the development of the Council Plan and Municipal Public Health and Wellbeing Plans
  • Contribute to a cooperative planning environment by working with internal and external stakeholders
  • Identify service development and delivery issues and initiatives and seek funding opportunities that enhance the health and wellbeing outcomes for the community

To be successful in this role you will have:

The position requires a tertiary qualification (ideally in Social Sciences, Social Planning, Town Planning, Community Wellbeing, Community Development, or related discipline together with some relevant work experience or through lesser formal qualifications with substantial relevant work experience.
