About the Role

We have an exciting career opportunity within our Finance Branch and we are currently seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Revenue Officer - Water and Sewer to provide advice and assistance to internal and external stakeholders within the Wingecarribee Shire region including:

  • Interpretation, investigation and action requests for ratepayers, government departments and other sections within Council;
  • Working with the Coordinator Revenue to undertake all revenue collection and related processes including payments, adjustments, processing refunds and debt collection; and 
  • Utilise analytical skills to assist in solving complex problems and provide possible solutions.

The salary for this position is $58,494 p.a. - $67,853 p.a. plus super dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.

About You

In addition to holding relevant qualifications and experience, the successful applicant will demonstrate the following:

Essential Criteria

  • Demonstrated work experience in a finance working environment, with a good understanding of rate, water and sewer debtors and debt recovery functions;
  • Experience in the preparation and review of financial reconciliations;
  • Experience in the use of spreadsheets and financial software;
  • Demonstrated experience at an intermediate level with the Microsoft Office suite (Excel and Word);
  • Excellent customer service and communication (verbal and written) skills;
  • Good analytical and problem-solving skills; 
  • High attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines; and
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C).

Desirable Criteria 

  • Knowledge of Council’s Financial Software – Finance One and Property & Rating.
  • Local Government Experience.
  • Well-developed ability to interpret and apply legislation (Local Government Act 1993) relating to revenue management.
  • Certificate III in Accounts Administration (or equivalent).
