The Role

The Senior Youth Officer role is responsible for leading the strategic direction, stakeholder collaboration and program supervision of Youth Services within the Town of Port Hedland. The Town is looking for a passionate and enthusiastic member to lead and support the facilitation and development of programs, projects and services to support the youth in our community. From providing effective leadership and strategic direction of the teams, to liaising and networking with key stakeholders, this Senior Youth Officer is an integral part of our Community Development within the Town.  For more specifics on the role, please see the Position Description Link.

 

Work Related Requirements

The preferred applicant will be required to undergo a pre-employment medical, including drug and alcohol assessment to be considered for the role, as well as possess:

  • Tertiary qualifications in community and youth development/ social work experience. OR Extensive experience in the community and youth development sector.
  • Strong leadership and interpersonal skills with demonstrated experience coordination and supervising staff.
  • National Police Clearance
  • Current ‘C’ class drivers license
  • Rights to work in Australia
