About the role:

Mackay Regional Council are seeking a suitably qualified and experienced Youth Worker to deliver after-hours youth programs at the Sarina Youth Centre. This is a part-time fixed term contract for 20 hours per week (Thursday, Friday and Saturday evenings) until June 2022.

About this opportunity:
To work with Sarina young people and community stakeholders to develop and deliver programs targeting at-risk young people living in Sarina. The after-hours program will engage young people in positive activities in a safe and inclusive environment that will build their capacity to manage their physical and mental health care needs.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:
• Tertiary qualifications in Youth Work, Social Work or Human Services or equivalent and/or relevant qualifications or commensurate experience.
• Demonstrated sound ability to coordinate and deliver events and projects.
• Current QLD “C” Class Drivers License.
• Current First Aid Certificate or the ability to obtain prior to the commencement
Working with Children Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with Children Blue Card. Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment – No Card, No Start policy.
