Council is seeking applications for a Trainee Road Marker. This traineeship qualification has a nominal duration of 36 months. Applications close on Wednesday, 4 August 2021. The Burdekin is located just 70km south of Townsville, where unspoilt natural beauty meets a thriving rural community right on the doorstep of the Great Barrier Reef. Famous for its abundant sunshine and rich agriculture, the shire’s most important asset is water. The Burdekin River combined with a massive underground aquifer and the Burdekin Falls Dam make the district drought resistant. Council is seeking applications for a Trainee Road Marker within the Works section. The successful applicant will learn to operate road marking equipment while undertaking a RII30920 Certificate III in Civil Construction Road Marking. This traineeship qualification has a nominal duration of 36 months. Continued employment after the traineeship period is not guaranteed. This traineeship opportunity is made available with the assistance of government funding. Funding eligibility will be assessed upon receipt of your application. Wages and Conditions of employment will be determined in accordance with the Order – Apprentices’ and Trainees’ Wages and Conditions (Excluding Certain Queensland Government Entities) 2003; Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream B) Award – State 2017 and Council’s Certified Agreement. The commencing wage is $1,553.27 gross per fortnight.
