The Opportunity

An exciting leadership opportunity has become available to improve the employment and engagement outcomes of Moonee Valley’s residents and community members.

Positioned within Council’s Community Development department, this role is an integral conjugate between our community employment programs and State Government Departments. Within this position, you will utilise your community engagement knowledge to provide oversight and delivery State Government funded contracts to ensure positive employment outcomes for our community.

Responsibilities

  • Supervise the delivery of the Jobs Victoria Advocate project, Job Victoria Employment services program, and Work for Victoria’s - Mamma’s Kitchen.
  • Develop, manage and facilitate strategic partnerships with external stakeholders.
  • Support the development and implementation of social procurement requirements.
  • Develop and implement both program and policy responses to address identified barriers to employment.

Skills & Experience

  • Tertiary qualifications in Social Work, Community Development, welfare/ social science or other relevant discipline with several years of subsequent community engagement experience;
  • High level relationship building and networking skills with internal and external stakeholders;
  • Strong knowledge and skills in the development of employment programs and an understanding of the social and systematic barriers that prevent vulnerable groups from engaging in employment;
  • Strong knowledge and experience in scoping, planning, resourcing and the implementation, monitoring and evaluation of programs and projects at a local level.
  • A current and valid Working with Children Check.
