In our search for an Accounting Technician, we're looking for not only well-developed accounting skills but also a positive and self-motivated attitude.

Providing accounting and financial support and advice to the Financial Services department, the various departments of Council and other external entities will fill your day.

You will be tasked with producing or assisting with the production of regular reports, providing information to support decision-making and assisting Council in achieving their financial and strategic objectives. Just as important is your enthusiasm and excellent communication skills which will ensure that you build positive relationships with all of your clients.

To be successful in this role, you will have:

  • Proven 3 years accounting experience
  • Experience in the preparation of financial statements
  • Demonstrated knowledge of management accounting systems and practices
  • Experience in accounting software systems and well-developed Excel skills
  • Experience in supporting and encouraging clients with a user-friendly focus
