The role Play a pivotal role in conserving, protecting and celebrating the rich history of the City of Ballarat. Reporting to the Manager Statutory Planning, you will advise a broad range of internal and external stakeholders on heritage issues across the municipality. The City of Ballarat’s statutory planning team is a growing and dynamic team, assessing a wide range of complex urban and rural land use issues. Through the provision of well-considered and grounded advice, this position would contribute to the heritage skills base of Statutory Planners and related internal disciplines. Though the primary focus of the role remains advising on the appropriateness of development proposals, potential also exists to contribute to higher-level policy development and strategic project work. About you Given the specialist qualifications required of this position, the successful candidate will have an architectural, urban design and/or planning background with significant experience in heritage management and conservation. Council may consider a qualified person who has a keen interest in pursuing further qualifications in heritage, urban design and architectural planning and conservation. You will also possess well-developed interpersonal skills with the ability to liaise and clearly communicate with line managers and all internal and external stakeholders. Key Selection Criteria
