Processing Support Officer

Permanent - full-time

The Council are working to enhance our city and preserve its character while embracing innovation and change. With more people choosing the great southern lifestyle on offer, our city is growing and the CBD is undergoing the biggest redevelopment it has seen in decades. As New Zealand's southernmost city we proudly encourage a good work-life balance and with direct flights, Auckland, Christchurch, and Wellington are within easy reach. All good reasons why working for Invercargill City Council is a great career and lifestyle choice.

The Council itself is growing too, and we are committed to supporting people to grow their careers while enjoying a healthy work-life balance.

We currently have an opportunity for an experienced person to join our Financial Services department in the processing team to support the various operations within Council.

In this role, you will work alongside, and take the lead from, our Accounts Payable Specialist and Senior Processing Officer to ensure accurate and timely processing of our Accounts Payable and Accounts Receivable functions. Additional to this you will bring a skill set capable of problem-solving and identifying areas for improvement across our processing tasks.

You will have a proven track record in Finance Administration - this goes without saying! But much more than this, you will have an excellent eye for detail and be experienced in organising your day to meet important deadlines. Your excellent communications skills will also be put to good use providing support to other members of your team with a willingness to show initiative. Knowledge of Local Government would be an advantage, and experience in accounting systems is a must.

At Invercargill City Council we pride ourselves on our values - positivity, respect, responsibility and above and beyond. Finding the right fit for our team is really important to us and we work hard to provide an environment reflective of these values.
