About the position:

The City is seeking a dynamic venue leader who will deliver effective management of a professional performing arts theatre. The position will be responsible for being the key point of contact with industry stakeholders, leading the marketing and promotion of shows, implementing the Queens Park Theatre (QPT) business plan in conjunction with the coordinator, overseeing the QPT staff and ensuring that the QPT is an attractive and competitive venue for external hire purposes.

This is a permanent full time position requiring the successful candidate to be available to work weekends and nights as required dependent on the programming.

Key accountabilities:

  • Responsible for the day to day running of all aspects of the venue, including leading a small team, to ensure all scheduled programs are delivered to the highest standard.
  • Monitor, review and report the performance of the venue in relation to financial and cultural outcomes and objectives on an ongoing basis.
  • Participate in the selection of theatre content by attending national and state industry touring selector opportunities and by coordinating the internal Queens Park Theatre Program Panel, to ensure the content is diverse and marketable to the community of Greater Geraldton.
  • Create marketing campaigns utilising a suite of marketing tools including print materials (posters, theatre programs, and flyers), social media promotion and paid advertising, direct mail, cross promotion and direct promotion.
  • Contribute to development of business and marketing plans for Queens Park Theatre that focus on both community and cultural outcomes and financial performance across all components of the venue.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will ideally have a degree in Marketing, Business Management, Venue Management or Performing Arts Management and relevant experience or lesser qualification with significant experience. Additionally, the position requires developed budget management and organisational skills with substantial experience in business and strategic planning.  

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits:

A salary starting from $80,393 per annum or $40.68 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
