Council is seeking applications to fill the full time position of Local Laws Officer. Applications will be received until 3.00pm on Friday 30 July 2021. Late applications may not be accepted. The Position Council is seeking an enthusiastic and energetic person to fill the position of Local Laws Officer in Longreach. The successful applicant will be responsible for actively promoting an understanding of and ensuring compliance with Council’s Local Laws and other relevant legislation as delegated and relevant to Local Laws. This position is also responsible for ensuring services provided by the local laws team are responsive, effective and efficiently delivered. Qualifications and Experience Experience in compliance of Local Laws and state legislation will be highly regarded. The incumbent will be required to have experience in handling and keeping domestic animals and the completion of an animal control course will be beneficial. Applicants must demonstrate a sound level of literacy in the use of computer software, particularly Microsoft Word. Strong communication skills including report writing must also be demonstrated. The ability to effectively deal with the public is essential Salary and Conditions A cash salary of $65,135.19 - $66,903.19, inclusive of all allowances and leave loading which is classified as a Level 3 under the Queensland Local Government Industry (Stream A) Award – State 2017 is offered with this position.
