Children's Services:

Georges River Council owns and operates six children’s services across our LGA located at Beverley Hills, Carss Park, Oatley West, South Hurstville, Kogarah and Penshurst. Council’s Children’s Services educate and care for approximately 400 children with enrolments continuing to grow.  We have a team who have been recognised for excellence in Environmental Programming and we are proud of our Reconciliation Action Plan which is developed in consultation with Aboriginal staff and community members.

Our educators take pride in their Early Childhood Education profession. We adhere to the guidelines, practices and regulations surrounding the National Quality Standards (NQS) and regularly review Quality Improvement Plans.  Our services strive for excellence with two of our services receiving an overall exceeding rating by ACECQA.  Our staff appreciate that we are a culturally diverse, united, supportive and social team.  Our teams value and aim to create a positive, inclusive, motivated and collaborative work place culture.

Georges River Council is currently seeking an enthusiastic and dedicated Childcare Worker (Diploma) to join our dynamic and busy Children Service's Team. The successful candidate will be expected to provide a friendly, secure and stimulating learning environment for all children attending the Centre, and to develop and implement programs which meet the developmental, cultural and additional needs of children in care. You will also provide support and provide information to parents regarding the needs and developmental progress of their children and provide specialist information and advice in regard to particular areas of concern as requested or required by parents.

Key Skills

  • Previous experience working with children 0-5 years of age, preferably in a centre based setting
  • Ability to work as a member of a team, and to provide role-modelling as appropriate.
  • Knowledge of NSW Children’s Services Regulations, QIAS.
  • Demonstrated report writing and documentation skills in maintaining developmental and daily program records
  • Demonstrated ability to work with staff, volunteers and families from diverse cultural backgrounds and with families with additional needs.
