Murray River Council is located within the popular River Country district of Southern New South Wales. Murray River Council has experienced much success attracting sustained external funding to supplement its operating income and delivering more for the community.

Key accountabilities are detailed in the Position Description and include, but are not limited to:

• Management and construction of the $700 million road network, with in‐house specialist project support.
• Effective leadership and management of staff to safely deliver agreed operational plans on‐time and on‐budget
• Implementation and utilisation of approved systems that ensure Council has up‐to‐date records of assets, services and operations.
• Planning and checking to ensure safe and efficient implementation of all works programs with support from the an in-house WHS specialist
• Development and maintain positive relationships with stakeholders including colleagues, Councillors, community members, regional and state organisations and all levels of Government
• Provide excellent customer service including timely responses to enquiries.
• Develop a traffic management vision for rapidly growing towns such as our border twin town of Moama-Echuca.

To be considered for the role you will need:

• A degree in Civil Engineering, recognised by Australian Universities and eligible for Engineers Australia membership.
• Road and civil construction and maintenance experience 
• Experience managing teams and working with people
