Mackay Regional Council are seeking two (x2) suitably qualified and experienced Leading Hands, to join our Capital works team; based at our Paget Depot.

These positions are responsible for providing daily supervision, support and assistance in leading a day labour crew and subcontractors to carry out civil construction duties associated with roads and drainage assets, construction projects or maintenance activities under the remote supervision of the Supervisor Construction.

Essential Qualifications, Experience & Skills:

• Certificate III in Civil Construction
• Current QLD Manual Car ‘C’ Class Open Driver’s Licence
• Current General Construction Safety ‘White’ Card
• Current Traffic Controllers Ticket
• Current First Aid Certificate
• Detailed experience in supervising small to medium size work teams.
• Detailed experience in construction of roads and drainage infrastructure.
• Demonstrated experience in the maintenance and operation of a wide range of machinery.
• Good skills in oral and written communication.

• Annual base salary from $55,176.75 (dependent on experience and qualifications of the successful applicants) + applicable allowances.
