Economic Development Trainee



1 x Temporary Full time Position (dependent on course length)

Salary Grade – Year 1 Trainee/Cadet $953.55 per week plus superannuation

Council is seeking a suitably qualified applicant to fill the temporary full-time role of Economic Development Officer.

The Economic Development Trainee will support the City Growth Coordinator to manage a proactive response to improving the liveability of the city to encourage population growth, assist in achieving regional economic transformation and vibrancy, advocate for funding and investment, support and promote film and tourism activities, manage CBD redevelopment projects and apply for and manage grant funding.

Reporting directly to the City Growth Coordinator, you will play a pivotal role in the proactive identification and effective response to grant funding and economic development opportunities.

The Economic Development Trainee is required to successfully undertake all designated work tasks and successfully complete external studies to gain Economic Development qualifications within an agreed time frame. (Determined by the study / course path – TAFE or University).

We are seeking an employee that is enthusiastic in pursuing a career in economic development, has experience working in small and large teams, and has a good customer service understanding. The successful candidate will have proven ability to communicate well with others, have high level Microsoft Office skills and take a proactive approach to their work. 

It would be favourable for the successful candidate to have relevant work experience; however this isn’t mandatory where you can demonstrate competent administrative capability.
