About the Position:

An exciting opportunity exists for a permanent full time Safety Business Advisor in our Corporate, Governance and Financial Services Directorate based in the Isaac Region.  Reporting to the Manager Organisational Safety this position is responsible for the promotion and achievement of a proactive Workplace Health and Safety culture across Isaac Regional Council. This position will also assist in the development and implementation of Councils Workplace Health and Safety policies and objectives.

The Safety Business Advisor will proficiently implement WH&S Strategy actions for Council, provide technical advice and support to staff and, contribute to the development and implementation of WH&S policies, procedures and strategies and establish and maintain records and documentation in accordance with WH&S forms, procedures and strategies. Promoting a culture and awareness of health and safety, the position is responsible for ensuring all employees are complying to Isaac Regional Council’s safety policies and procedures.

For this position we offer:

• Base salary between Salary $72,843.44 - $83,917.88 (Level 4 -6, Stream A)
• Nominally 36.25 hours per week;
• 5 weeks annual leave @ 17.5% loading;
• 12% super (in accordance with policy);
• Fortnightly RDO’s in accordance with Council policy.

About You:

We are seeking an enthusiastic Safety Business Advisor who possesses:

• Certificate IV in WH&S and/or previous experience in a similar position essential;
• High level of communication skills required;
• Extensive knowledge of the Microsoft Office Suite particularly Excel is required.
