The MacDonnell Regional Council is located in the centre of Australia. Covering 270,000sq km and with an estimated population approaching 7,000, it has a unique beauty with picturesque water holes, magnificent flora and fauna, red desert sands and rugged mountain ranges. As Manager Governance and Compliance you will be responsible for the effective operation of administrative and governance functions and for ensuring Council meets all legislative, statutory, policy and performance obligations. Other key areas of focus will include liaising with the executive leadership team, coordinating with council electoral officials to assist in the facilitation of general and bi elections, overlooking communications and media liason to identify opportunities for council's positive media experience. Ideally you will hold a Bachelor Degree in Business/ Government or equivalent experience in similar governance role. You will also have the ability to interpret legislation and policies. You will require the ability to represent the organisation and negotiate with stakeholders to promote objectives and communicate strategic direction and vision.
