Trainee- Parks and Gardens



Bland Shire Council is currently seeking a Trainee to contribute to the progressive development and ongoing maintenance of parks, reserves and recreational areas throughout the Shire. The apprenticeship is for 4 years and will involve theory and practical workplace assessments and include training in the operation and maintenance of various items of Council plant. You will assist with the maintenance of assets, parks, gardens and sporting fields within the Shire to achieve a high standard of care and quality outcomes. Council offers a 9 day fortnight, 5 weeks annual leave and an opportunity to join the team on completion of Traineeship.

To be successful in this position, you will possess the following skills and experience:

Following certificates:

  • School Certificate or copy of final report or
  • Higher School Certificate
  • Possession of a current Provisional 2 Driver Licence will be highly desirable

Willingness to obtain the following licences / certificates:

  • WHS Construction Induction (White) Card
  • Certificate III in Parks and Gardens
