Manager Growth and Activation
An opportunity exists for an enthusiastic and engaged individual to lead the Growth and Activation team at SVC. The right candidate will be responsible for a diverse portfolio at Council that includes development and planning, compliance, economic development, marketing and tourism This position is a full-time permanent role based in either Tumut or Tumbarumba (travel to other locations as required).
Key components of this position will require the successful candidate to:
- Inform the decision-making of the Executive Leadership Team to support governance and administration of the council.
- Deliver and maintain operational plans that meet community needs and organisational priorities now and into the future.
- Manage goals and performance measures that link community needs and organisational priorities to service delivery.
- Manage financial, human and physical resources to enable service delivery.
- Deliver the services of the portfolio in accordance with legislation, adopted strategies and plans to meet community needs and organisational priorities.
- Guide the portfolio's contribution and the operational performance of the council to enhance service quality, accessibility and responsiveness.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity
The successful candidate for this position will have:
- Degree qualification in Urban & Regional Planning, economics or similar; or strategic experience in a relevant discipline.
- Contemporary knowledge and experience in at least three of the following areas: economic development, strategic land use planning, community and social planning, strategic foresight, development assessment, compliance and regulation.
- Demonstrated success in engendering a customer-first culture; appropriately balancing encouragement of growth with proactive regulatory efficiency.
- Proven success in driving operational efficiency and effectiveness through process improvement and innovation
- Track record of engaging with government agencies, professional associations, private sector, industry and community stakeholders to showcase the region for new investment.
- Demonstrated ability to inform corporate strategy development and advise on operational planning and service delivery.
- Demonstrated ability to manage, coach and support staff to achieve work targets and performance objectives.
- Current Class C drivers’ licence.
SALARY Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 11 ranging from $112 000 (gross) plus 9.5% superannuation and Vehicle. This package is negotiable based on skills, experience and education.
