Senior Community Engagement Officer



The Role

The Senior Community Engagement Officer will lead the development and implementation of community engagement strategies across the Cooks River Catchment including key projects such as the Coastal Management Program Community Engagement Plan in collaboration with Alliance member councils.
This position will work with a range of business units to identify opportunities for system, process and design improvements with the objective of pursuing an exceptional level of customer service and continuous improvement.
This opportunity will be offered on a Temporary full time basis (up to 28 June 2024)

Some of your duties will include:
  • Lead the development and implementation of the Cooks River Catchment Coastal Management Program Community Engagement Plan for 2021-24.
  • Manage key relationships with stakeholders including community groups, community engagement staff from Alliance member councils and other stakeholders
  • Lead the delivery of community projects around topics such as litter and wetlands
  • Source ongoing funding for future projects.
  • Work collaboratively with other organisations including member councils, community groups and the NSW Government and achieve the agreed outcomes in a timely manner.

You will have:
  • Tertiary qualifications in communications, community engagement , environmental management or equivalent experience in a relevant discipline or an equivalent combination of relevant experience and/or education/training.
  • Current NSW Class C Driver’s Licence
  • Demonstrated ability to develop and implement a plan to effectively engage the community
  • Extensive knowledge of community engagement practice
  • Demonstrated ability to facilitate and work collaboratively across multiple stakeholders.
  • Well-developed written and verbal communication skills.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a member of a small multiâ€disciplinary team
  • Experience in project management including administration, organisation, planning, coordinating, delivering and evaluating a community engagement project.
  • Well developed technology skills including social media, Microsoft Office and web platforms.

The salary range for this opportunity commences at $90,132 (Grade H, Step1) + 9.5% super
