  • Band 6 $86,199 - $93,960 plus 9.5% Super
  • Full time temporary role for 3 months, backfill for employee on leave
  • Based in St Kilda

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role

Joining the Festivals team at an exciting time when cultural activities will play a key role in community recovery efforts, this role is responsible for engaging and then managing sponsors and business partners for major festivals, including the St Kilda Film Festival and St Kilda Festival.

This opportunity will entail delivery of contracts for existing sponsors of the 2021 St Kilda Film Festival, and pitching and negotiation with sponsors for the 2022 St Kilda Festival.

Duties:

  • Deliver contracted sponsor benefits for the 2021 St Kilda Film Festival 
  • Engage with and pitch to potential sponsors for the 2022 St Kilda Festival
  • Coordinate VIP and guest access, including invitation and ticketing management
  • Preparation of proposals, agreements and acquittals for sponsors
  • Provision of marketing support for major events

Skills and Experience 

  • Understanding of corporate partnerships and sponsorships
  • High level skills in pitching, negotiating and closing deals across a variety of industries
  • Relevant experience in and knowledge of the festivals or arts industries
  • Understanding of brand strategy, marketing and future trends as they apply to sponsorships and partnerships

Security requirements and professional obligations     

Pre-employment screening will apply to all appointments.  Prior to a formal letter of offer, preferred applicants will be asked to provide:

  • evidence of mandatory qualifications/registrations/licences, 
  • sufficient proof of their right to work in Australia, and
  • sufficient proof of their identity. 

Employment of successful candidates will be subject to a National Police Check.  

Employment of successful candidates will be subject to evidence of a Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Port Phillip registered as the organisation).
