Community Support Worker – Casual roles    

  • Band 3: Hourly rate: $37.48 - $39.91(includes casual loading) and 9.5% Super
  • Casual roles available (minimum 3 days a week)
  • City of Port Phillip locations 

About the Organisation 

The City of Port Phillip is an inner-city council with around 1000 employees who deliver more than 100 programs and services to our residents, businesses and visitors. These range from childcare and immunisations, to libraries, management of parks and open space, rubbish collection, road maintenance and more.  

About the Role    

We are seeking Community Support Workers to provide high quality in-home and community support services to frail older people and younger people with a disability and their carers. 

Duties    

As a Community Support Worker your key responsibilities will be:

  • Assist clients to remain as independent as possible with the physical tasks of daily living, by working with them. The services you will provide include: personal care, home care, respite care services and assistance with shopping and meal preparation.
  • To provide services in a professional and client focused manner.
  • Participation in regular supervision, team meetings, trainings and mentoring program.

Skills and Experience 

  • Experience in working with older/frail people, people with disabilities and people from diverse backgrounds.

Mandatory Requirements      

  • Certificate III in Home and Community Care (or equivalent).
  • Victorian Driver Licence, Vic Roads Licence Verification Letter and reliable insured vehicle for work purposes
  • Pre-employment medical check/functional capability test 
  • First Aid certificate

Security requirements and professional obligations     

Pre-employment screening will apply to all appointments

Prior to a formal letter of offer, preferred applicants will be asked to provide:

  • evidence of mandatory qualifications/registrations/licences, 
  • sufficient proof of their right to work in Australia, and
  • sufficient proof of their identity. 

Employment of successful candidates will be subject to a National Police Check.  

Employment of successful candidates will be subject to evidence of a Working with Children Check (employee type with City of Port Phillip registered as the organisation).
