About the position:

The position of Leading Hand Concrete Maintenance is part of the Urban Roads team within the City’s Maintenance Operations department and is responsible for the provision of footpath construction and maintenance services to the City of Greater Geraldton.

This position works a 9 day fortnight, with every second Friday as a rostered day off.

Key accountabilities:

  • Repair, maintenance and construction of the City’s network of footpaths using techniques including concrete formwork, finishing and brick paving.
  • Provide initiative and guidance to direct reports in daily activities, including coordinating all materials and equipment for use by the team(s) depending on operational requirements.
  • Ensure that all work undertaken by teams is to a high standard and within budget and agreed timeframes.
  • General operation of plant and hand tools, carry out maintenance and/or labour duties as required.

Position requirements:

The successful applicant will hold a current MR class driver’s licence and have demonstrated experience in the techniques associated with the construction and maintenance of concrete pathways, kerbing and other structures, along with experience in coordinating a small team.

Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.

Remuneration and benefits

A salary starting from $63,792 per annum or $32.2833 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications.
