The Shire of Ashburton serves communities across a vast region in the Pilbara, Western Australia. The region is known for mining, agriculture and fishing, and for its rugged, ancient landscape. Pannawonica is a small mining town, home to the annual Robe River Camp draft and Rodeo, and close to Millstream Chichester National Park. 

ABOUT THE POSITION

The Shire of Ashburton is seeking an outgoing, motivated and organised person to join the dynamic community services team in Pannawonica. This position is responsible for assisting with the effective operation of projects and activities for the local community, particularly young people during school holiday programs.

Our ideal candidate will have a passion for working with youth, families and community groups from diverse cultural backgrounds, as well as being creative and innovative in using activities to bring people together, all the while demonstrating a high level of honesty and integrity. This role requires a high level of administration, planning, project management and reporting skills.

Previous experience in a similar role or substantial administration experience will be highly regarded. The successful candidate will be required to provide proof of application for Working with Children Check upon commencement, if not already held, and a current Provide First Aid Certificate is also required. The fortnightly roster requires a minimum of 40 hours and after hours/weekend work will be required from time to time, along with school holidays. Additional hours may be offered at times, and travel to other Shire towns of Paraburdoo, Tom Price and Onslow may be required from time to time.

This position offers a competitive remuneration package/hourly rate and six (6) weeks' annual leave. All terms and conditions are as per the Shire of Ashburton Enterprise Agreement 2017.
