About the Role

The role of Coordinator Procurement and Fleet is responsible for overseeing Council's procurement and tendering function to ensure compliance with the Local Government Act and other relevant legislation.  The position is also responsible for the effective management of Council's Plant and equipment (including light fleet) through the use of modern and proactive fleet management systems and processes. In addition, the position is required to provide high level support and advice to Council's staff in relation to procurement and purchasing processes and compliance with Council's policies and guidelines.  

The salary for this position is $92,253.72 p.a. to $107,014.44 p.a. plus 9.5% superannuation plus Private Leaseback Vehicle dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.

About You

We are looking for exceptional candidates who possess the following:

  • Tertiary qualifications in a relevant discipline such as Business, Purchasing, Contract Management or Public Administration;
  • Demonstrated experience in a Senior Procurement Position within a large multi-purpose organisation;
  • Sound knowledge of government procurement, tendering policies and contract management;
  • Ability to work across the organisation to understand business requirements as applicable to purchasing and procurement's processes;
  • Experience in the development and implementation of best practice plant and fleet management guidelines and systems; 
  • Ability to drive change through policy, procedural and system improvements; 
  • Strong spreadsheet and database skills within the Microsoft Office Environment; 
  • A high level of interpersonal, presentation and communication (verbal and written) skills; 
  • Demonstrated capacity to coordinate and mentor staff;
  • Possess high level analytical and problem-solving skills;
  • Demonstrate high attention to detail and ability to prioritise and complete tasks efficiently and to deadlines; and 
  • Current NSW Driver’s Licence (Class C).
