About the role

Exciting opportunities have become available for passionate and enthusiastic hospitality professionals to join the multi-award-winning precinct at the Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) as a casual Food and Beverage Attendant.

About the MECC

The Mackay Entertainment & Convention Centre (MECC) is a state-of-the art multi-million-dollar precinct which provides unique settings for conferences, exhibitions, seminars, and banquets. The facility consists of many versatile spaces including a 1090 seat theatre, 100 seat studio space, two plenary halls which when fully extended seats approx. 1500 people, two dedicated foyers, bars, breakout rooms and extensive front- of-house and backstage facilities. The centre also comfortably accommodates up to 1000 people banquet style.

The Role

The precinct is looking for passionate, experienced, reliable, and hard-working Food and Beverage Attendants to provide consistent and high-quality standards of food and beverage services to a broad range of clients. These positions are crucial in ensuring the professional delivery of theatre, function, and conference services at the MECC. 

The successful applicant will have the following:

• Minimum 6 months hospitality experience (F&B, Banquet/Functions or Customer Service)
• Responsible Service of Alcohol (RSA) Certificate
• Strong attention to detail and eagerness to learn
• Barista experience will be highly regarded
• Available to work on an any 5 out of 7 rostered basis including early mornings, afternoons, weekends, and night shifts as required.
• Blue Card - It is an essential requirement for this position to hold a Working with Children Blue Card.  Under Queensland legislation, you must hold the Blue Card prior to commencing employment – No Card, No Start policy.  If you currently do not hold a Blue Card, we recommend you commence the application process when you apply for the position. Casual as per roster / facility requirements

 Hourly rate from $21.73 + casual loading
