An exciting opportunity exists within the Governance unit for a practising lawyer to join their team. The successful candidate will provide accurate and timely legal advice to the organisation on a broad range of legal matters. In this role you will be a critical component of the City’s Legal Services Team.

This role will provide an opportunity for the successful applicant to be exposed to a diverse range of activities within the Legal Service team, including the coordination, and development of organisational policies, processing freedom of information requests, maintaining information registers, providing advice on the interpretation of Acts, regulations and subordinate instruments, managing conflict of Interest declarations and being involved in the implementation of the new Local Government Act 2020.

You will have strong analytical and investigative skills. You will have a demonstrated ability in cross organisational engagement along with excellent communication and interpersonal skills.

If you hold a degree qualification or higher formal qualification in law with several years of subsequent relevant experience in the legal field, we welcome your application.
