The Role
Council is seeking a highly motivated individual to undertake the above position. The Communications Advisor will:
- Promote Council’s public image, publicising activities and enhancing the community understanding of Council’s role and services through effective communications and public relations material and methods, including graphic design and website maintenance activities.
- Develop and implement Council’s communication strategies and develop a range of online and digital tools and resources to communicate and engage effectively with the community and stakeholders.
- Prepare a range of communications documents and materials and mentoring staff in the implementation of communications documents.
What You Will Need
All applicants should have a Certificate IV in Communications or Graphic Design and have experience in a similar role. They will have the capacity to deliver quality design and communications outcomes using relevant software and mechanisms and will have experience in developing, implementing, reviewing and improving web sites. Candidates who have writing skills with the ability to prepare information for publication including feature articles, newsletters and communication documents and who have previous experience working in Local Government are encouraged to apply.
Salary Range
The salary range for this position is $1150.20 - $1288.20 per 35-hour week, in accordance with Council’s salary system. Other conditions are in accordance with the Local Government (State) Award and Council’s policies and procedures.
