An opportunity exists to join the Works Delivery Team based in Tumbarumba

Primary Purpose

Contribute to the operational needs of the Council by carrying out duties in the operation and maintenance of the works delivery team in accordance with service levels.

  Key components of this position will include:

• Deliver final trim grader operations to meet specified standards and agreed service levels including site supervision of workers and plant supporting grader operations.
• Deliver multi-skilled civil construction and maintenance works through the application of multi-skilled plant operations and labouring.
• Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
• Deliver plant operations efficiently, effectively and safely.

Do you have the following skills and experience?

Essential Criteria

• Contemporary experience in final trim grader operations with the ability to trim and finish to tight tolerances and achieve specified standards for roughness and levels for the base course.
• Demonstrated ability to interpret plans and verbal directions relating to excavator operations and to implement the requirements.
• Demonstrated ability to apply sound knowledge of related work techniques to direct and control other plant operators working on the same process safely and efficiently
• Demonstrated ability to work effectively as a multi-skilled member of a team.
• Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
• Class MR Drivers’ licence.

Desirable Criteria

• Previous experience utilising technology (e.g. GPS functionality, to conduct grader operations)

• Previous experience in the operation of civil plant on worksites (e.g. rollers, water carts, trucks or loaders).
• Traffic Control Tickets – ‘Traffic Controller’ and ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’.

SALARY
Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 5 which ranges from $2,191.13 per fortnight (gross) to $2,466.10 per fortnight (gross) dependant on skills, qualifications and experience plus 9.5% superannuation and allowances.
