The Economic Development and Environment Unit is both strategic and practical in its outlook. It encourages sustainable economic growth and prosperity and balances this with integrated, long term strategies and plans to protect and sustain Greater Bendigo’s natural environments, including strategic energy and water management to support resilience and climate change adaptation.


In this newly created position, you will foster sustainable economic growth, business activation and attraction by working collaboratively across the City and region with a range of stakeholders. You will also advance strategic action that supports the City to deliver sustainable and innovative environmental outcomes. You will lead the development and implementation of high level and integrated economic and environmental strategies, policies and plans so Greater Bendigo is best positioned to meet future challenges and as a leading regional City.


As the successful candidate, you will have a focus on leadership, culture and change management, knowledge in the economic development and environment fields, demonstrated experience in effectively engaging with high level representatives from a wide variety of public and private organisations, have strong strategic planning and analytical skills and the ability to develop leading edge policies, strategies and programs.

This position requires a satisfactory police records check and Working with Children Check.
