Senior Shelter Operations Assistant



About the Role

The Senior Shelter Assistant is the link between mid-level management and staff and is engaged to assist in ensuring the delivery of operations in an orderly and safe manner. Tasks to be undertaken are covered by practices and procedures, with expenditure levels, resources and plans having been determined in advance.  This role is responsible for assisting in the Supervision of the operations of the Wingecarribee Animal Shelter, with an emphasis on animal care, facilitating the re-claiming or responsible re-homing of impounded companion animals.


You will be working a 38 hr/ 7 day roster where working weekends may be required. 


The salary for this position is $55,210.49 to $64,044.23 per annum plus superannuation, dependent on skills, experience and qualifications.


About You

To ensure your success in this position, you will have Certificate II in Companion Animal Services and/or demonstrated strong animal welfare knowledge.  You will be knowledgeable in computer applications; show leadership in initiating change, inspire and motivate; provide team members with fair and consistent feedback, coach and mentor; monitor and report with excellent attention to detail; have exceptional customer service skills; assist in the development and operational implementation of consistent programs and initiatives to improve animal welfare outcomes and overall service delivery; and have a current NSW Drivers Licence.
