Team Leader – Parks & Amenities (Tumut)
An opportunity exists to join Parks & Amenities Team providing team leadership and knowledge and skills in Parks & Garden and or Waste and Recovery.
Primary Purpose
Direct, engage and support the day-to-day work of the team to undertake their work efficiently, effectively and safely.
Key components of this position will include:
- Use financial, human and physical resources efficiently, effectively and responsibly to complete tasks that either contribute to or directly deliver services.
- Deliver the services of the team in accordance with legislation, adopted strategies and plans to meet community needs and organisational priorities.
- Guide the team's contribution and performance to enhance service quality, accessibility and responsiveness.
- Inform, advise and educate the team and infrastructure and assets leadership on matters relating to parks, open spaces, town services and amenities to facilitate efficient and effective service delivery.
- Promote information sharing and knowledge transfer to drive evidence-based decision-making, enhance capability and optimise capacity.
Have you the following:
Essential Criteria
- Contemporary experience and/or relevant qualifications in delivering parks and town services works (e.g. horticulture, arboriculture).
- Contemporary experience in a supervisory role or extensive technical experience with demonstrated leadership potential.
- Demonstrated ability to prioritise work, manage multiple projects and work effectively in a team without direct supervision.
- Demonstrated ability to interpret and apply plans, specifications, operating instructions and written procedures.
- Construction Induction Certificate (White Card).
- Class C drivers’ licence.
Desirable Criteria
- Class MR Drivers’ licence.
- Traffic Control Tickets – ‘Traffic Controller’ and ‘Implement Traffic Control Plans’.
- Chainsaw Ticket and/or operational competence for trim and crosscut.
- AQF3 Chemical accreditation.
SALARY Salary will be paid in accordance with the Snowy Valleys Council Salary System at Grade 7 which ranges from $2,481.57 per fortnight (gross) to $2,793.10 per fortnight (gross) dependant on skills and qualifications plus 9.5% superannuation.
