About the Role

The position of Accredited Certifier actively undertakes the business functions associated with:                                    

  • Assessment and determination of development applications associated with class 1 and 10 (Residential) applications;
  • Certification and inspection of Class 1 to 10 Construction Certificate and Complying Development Certificate applications, including issuing Part 6 Certificates pursuant to the Environmental Planning and Assessment Act  and Local Approvals pursuant to the Local Government Act; and
  • Providing efficient and responsive service to the development industry in the inspection of various stages of building construction.

This permanent full-time position will require the successful candidate to work each Monday to Friday (35 hours per week). Salary for this position is based on skills, experience and qualifications and will range from $82,572.76pa to $95,446.52pa + 9.5% Super with access to a Council Leaseback Vehicle.


About You

In addition to holding relevant qualifications, you will be able to demonstrate the following: 

  • Eligibility to, or accreditation with, NSW Fair Trading as a Building Surveyor - Restricted (Class 1 and 10 ) (or higher); 
  • Knowledge of and an ability to interpret and apply the National Construction Code/Building Code of Australia, Environmental Planning and Assessment Act 1979 and Local Government Act 1993 as it applies to building and plumbing and drainage work; and
  • An ability to manage competing priorities whilst maintaining responsiveness to community and development industry enquiries including the ability to maintain accuracy and professionalism in all business dealings.
