PLANNING OFFICER

(5 MONTH FIXED TERM / PART TIME)

 

Situated in the Great Southern district of Western Australia and only 50km from Albany and Denmark, the Shire of Plantagenet is a prosperous rural district which offers an enviable lifestyle amongst wineries and national parks.  The position is situated in Mount Barker, Plantagenet’s administrative hub, surrounded by picturesque landscapes and growth industries.

 

The Shire of Plantagenet is seeking a self-motivated person with the relevant skills and planning experience to join our team as a Planning Officer on a 5-month fixed term, part time contract.  The position will sit within the Strategic Development Department and will report to the Principal Planning Officer.

 

The position will be responsible for assisting the Principal Planning Officer in delivering a range of services in the planning, subdivision and development areas.

 

The successful applicant will have excellent written and verbal communication skills with working knowledge of, and the ability to apply, town planning legislation, policies and practices.  Relevant qualifications and experience in a planning environment, preferably in local government, is required.

 

The appointed person will be required to work 3 days per week.

 

Salary: $40.46 per hour, up to 14.5% superannuation, four weeks’ annual leave (pro rata) including 17.5% leave loading, plus other benefits.
