Parks and open spaces are a critical component of the fabric of Christchurch and are a key component of the Garden City image Christchurch is renowned for. Our cemeteries make up a significant proportion of these spaces, and hold a special place in the hearts of countless families who care deeply about these special open spaces across our beautiful city.

Our goal is to lift and enhance the quality of these beautiful areas to commemorate their legacy and history. You'll combine your mowing, spraying and horticultural experience that will deliver a high quality finish to the cemeteries throughout the city.

The role is cemeteries maintenance focused. You'll be a committed team player who is always looking at ways to learn and grow. You will be ensuring all aspects of the cemeteries such as turf, gardens and all associated furnishings are maintained to the highest standard. You'll have the opportunity to perform a wide range of horticultural tasks as well as interact with a wide range of horticultural disciplinary experts, in particular turf and horticultural specialist.

You will have a full driver's licence, a minimum of level 4 National Certificate in Horticulture or equivalent, or extensive experience in similar role. A Grow Safe qualification and/or a Traffic management ticket/qualifications would be highly desirable. We're particularly interested in hearing from you if you have experience operating ride on lawn mowers.
