He angitūtanga: The opportunity

 

Based within our CCO Governance & External Partnerships department, we have an opportunity for an expert Programme Lead to join our team on a fixed term contract until May 2022. 

 

Reporting to the Manager CCO Governance & External Partnerships, you will be responsible for leading the planning, coordination, implementation, monitoring and reporting on the programme required to deliver the CCO review. 

 

You will ensure that the coordination and completion of workstreams and projects are on time and within scope as well as provide appropriate monitoring and reporting on progress to the appropriate political and executive level.

 

This is a senior role where you will build strong relationships with executives in council and its council-controlled organisations (CCO), as well as with council’s elected members and CCO board members.


 

He kōrero mōu: About you

 

A seasoned Project/ Programme professional, your background will demonstrate significant previous experience leading large programmes of work, ideally within a complex corporate or political environment. 

 

This role seeks relevant tertiary qualifications, combined with expertise in leading large-scale programmes.  Professional project management certifications such as PMP, or Prince II would be advantageous.

 

Political acumen and knowledge of the workings and functions of local government are important to this role. Your highly developed communication skills, ability to build strong relationships at a political, executive or board level will ensure you are able to effectively influence across the Council Group at that senior level and support our managers and CCO’s with clear strategic direction and visibility of the implementation programme.
