Aquatic Education Teacher

An opportunity exists at the Ballarat Aquatic & Lifestyle Centre for a positive and friendly AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming and Water Safety. 

This position requires a positive, energetic and vibrant attitude with a willingness to learn and continuously improve.  

You will have exceptional customer service skills and a strong desire to exceed member expectations, with the ability to work well as part of a team. Flexible hours and days are required for this role over a 6-day roster which include some or all the following; mornings, afternoons, evenings and/or weekends.  

The successful applicant will be responsible for delivering classes in our Aquatic Education program which focusses on teaching children and adults to swim and to be safer around aquatic environments. Our classes cater for students from nervous beginners through to more advanced swimmers. Our classes are school aged up to adults. You will only be assigned infant and preschool classes if you have the required qualification. 

Essential requirements: 

• AUSTSWIM Teacher of Swimming & Water Safety 

• Working with Children Check 

• Level 2 First Aid 

Desirable criteria: 

AUSTSWIM Teacher of Infant and Preschool Aquatics 

AUSTSWIM Teacher of Aquatics- Access and Inclusion 

AUSTSWIM Teacher of Developing Competitive Strokes  

The successful applicant will be required have: 

• Excellent communication skills  

• Excellent interpersonal and customer service skills 

• The ability to work effectively as part of a team and contribute in a way that adds to the effectiveness of the team 

• You will be able to demonstrate an ability to plan and deliver high quality lessons 

• Demonstrated willingness to participate in industry training and professional development courses
