About the position:
This position will provide technical expertise to the Infrastructure Planning function within the City’s Engineering Services Branch.
This position will focus on undertaking engineering and planning investigations with respect to project delivery. It will also focus on the development of the capital works project planning and associated grant applications.
Key accountabilities:
- Plan, develop, monitor and update infrastructure asset strategies for all asset classes including; roads, drainage, paths, parks (POS) and buildings. Provide strategic direction to all City projects from an infrastructure perspective where required.
- Assist with the preparation and submission of the City’s Annual Capital Works Program. Undertake due diligence planning investigations of priority projects in the Capital Works Priority List (CWPL) in accordance with the City’s’ Project Delivery Framework.
- Undertake various major and minor strategic infrastructure project work, including work breakdowns, program development, scoping, estimating, evaluation and project management processes up to the project delivery phase.
- Undertake and oversee the preparation of infrastructure grant applications such as; Regional Bicycle Network, Road Project Grants and underground power.
- Undertake detailed reviews of: internal and external infrastructure proposals affecting the City; engineering development reports; and, strategies and policies in relation to transport infrastructure and provide advice on potential improvements for consideration.

Position requirements:
The successful applicant will hold a degree in Civil Engineering and have experience in strategic infrastructure planning investigations including roads, traffic engineering, drainage, stormwater and parks.
Completion of a pre-employment medical including alcohol and other substances testing is required of all positions at the City.
Remuneration and benefits:
A salary starting from $85,546 per annum or $43.29 per hour will be offered dependent on knowledge, skills, experience and qualifications
