Senior Development Assessment Planner
About the Role
Council are seeking an enthusiastic, highly capable and dedicated individual to join our team as Senior Development Assessment Planner. The primary focus of the role is to:
- Assessment and determination of development applications and Part 4 certificates;
- Provide technical advice on planning matters and;
- Mentor staff within the Development Assessment Team and other areas of the Council to improve and enhance a collaborative approach.
The salary for this position is $86,204.56 - $99,997.04 p.a. (plus superannuation), dependent upon skills, qualifications and experience. This position has been identified as being eligible for a Leaseback Vehicle
About You
You must possess the following skills and experience and must provide clear examples in response to the selection criteria:
- Relevant tertiary qualifications in Town Planning or substantial experience in town planning/development assessment within a Local Government context;
- Excellent oral and written communication skills, with the ability to develop and deliver high level reports;
- Capacity building to professionally develop technical skills and experience and the capability to build professional relationships within the industry;
- Extensive and detailed knowledge of relevant legislation, in particular relation to NSW;
- Excellent analytical and problem solving skills to handle complex and potentially sensitive issues;
- Mentoring of staff;
- Demonstrated skills in a range of computer applications;
- Current NSW Drivers Licence (Class C);
- Demonstrated understanding of Work Health and Safety and Equal Employment Opportunity
