What we are looking for:

We are looking for a self starter with a positive can do attitude who enjoys working outdoors? This is a new role to Council and the person we are looking for will actively be involved in building this role.

The role involves supporting the Team Leader by implementing programs, day to day and programmed maintenance to ensure the safe and efficient operation of the Councils parks and open space.

You will undertake activities in park maintenance within the Fraser Coast with a specific focus on the Maryborough Showgrounds and Equestrian Park (MSEP) venue.

What you should have to apply:

  • Trade qualification or AQF level 3 (or above) in relevant field and experience; or
  • Minimum five (5) years’ experience in a related position.
  • High level communications skills
  • Experience in autonomously developing work programs
  • Well developed organisational skills
  • Experience or ability to learn Microsoft Office
  • Experience in leading and directing external contractors for works
  • Ability to work alone
  • ACDC licence
  • White Card
  • Queensland Class “C” drivers’ licence

 

What’s nice to have:

  • MR licence
  • Chainsaw level 2
  • Experience in park facilities management
